Hello, I'm Monika...
… and I’m glad you stopped by. While you’re here, may I share a bit about myself?
Born and raised in Germany, I moved to Vancouver, BC (Canada) in 2002 to start a new chapter. I brought with me a lifelong habit of listening deeply, solving problems, and being a confidante for others. After being laid off from my last corporate job in 2008, I turned that aptitude into my profession and founded Clear Directions Coaching, now Clear Directions Consulting.
A core driving force in my work—and my life—is helping people reconnect with their true nature and develop the courage to live it consciously, unapologetically, and uncompromisingly. I believe it’s both our privilege and our quiet obligation to contribute our uniqueness to life’s masterpiece. To do that, we must care for our whole selves—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—and enhance logic with intuition, heart, and inner wisdom.
I’ve been blessed with experiences and teachers that helped me grow self-awareness and inner strength from the inside out. I’ve learned (and continue learning) to let go of expectations and obligations and live more on my own terms—with greater acceptance, clarity, and ease. The more I trust my inner wisdom to guide my outer actions, the more confident and peaceful I feel.
Through my own journey, I’ve come to see that self-awareness, self-responsibility, and self-leadership are keys to a fulfilling life. There’s profound freedom in living as an authentic expression of who we truly are.
Now, my purpose is to support others on that same path—to help them release old fears and limitations, step into their genuine strength, and take aligned, meaningful action with calm, ease, and joy.
That’s the journey I live—and work—for. And I hope we get to connect along the way!

Nature, the Love of My Life
Whether it's my sweet cat Scarlet, the flowers in my garden, neighbourhood blackberries, local forests, or distant mountains, I find great calm, inspiration, joy, and so many lessons in the natural world.
Hiking is one of the greatest loves of my life, and I still have many forests to explore and mountains to climb.
Included in my love of nature is human nature. I have come to be aware and appreciative of humanity's amazing capacity for goodness and beauty, while also seeing the sometimes deep, daunting darkness in our human experience. It's all part of being human, and I'm grateful to everybody on my path for helping me see and accept as best I can the limitless nuances of our human nature.

What I Value
At this point in my life, I strive to live by the following core values, personally and professionally:
- Integrity: I am truthful, sincere, and heartfelt in my interactions with others and myself. My thoughts, words, and actions are aligned with my values. I follow through on my promises and choose honesty over convenience and principles over comfort.
- Possibility: I approach life with curiosity and am willing to experiment and invite different perspectives. More often than not, I see, find, or create opportunities and win-win solutions.
- Kindness: I listen attentively, speak and act with respect, and offer help before being asked. I am gentle in my feedback and extend grace to others and myself when mistakes happen.
- Introspection: I regularly step back to explore who I truly am and connect with what matters to me. I seek stillness and pause to understand my emotions, thoughts, and choices so that I may better align my actions with my truth and values.

What I Believe to Be True
Over the years, I have come to the following conclusions and beliefs about myself, others, and life:
- We’re not here to change the world; we’re here to change ourselves. The world does what the world does. We need to do what we need to do and stay in our lanes. The most meaningful impact we can have on the world lies in increasing our self-awareness and our willingness to take responsibility for our lives. The greatest gift we can give to the workd and ourselves is to connect with and live our Truth while respecting other people and their perspectives. If we all did just that, our world would be a much more conscious, peaceful, and joyful one.
